Empowering Women — Financial Inclusion

Zonta operates globally, nationally, and locally to advance our vision of a world where women’s rights are upheld as human rights, every woman can fully realize her potential, women have equal access to resources and leadership roles, and no woman lives in fear of violence.

Zonta Kalusugan Grand Medical Mission

This took place on February 1, 2025, at Isabela State University in Angadanan, Isabela, with Department of Health Undersecretary Dr. G. Baggao serving as Guest of Honor.

This initiative was a collaborative effort among Zister clubs—the Zonta Club of Makati Legaspi (Area 5) and the Zonta Club of Isabela (Area 4)—in partnership with the ZCML Golden Z Club Mu Sigma Phi Sorority Inc., Southern Isabela Medical Center, the local government units of Angadanan and Alicia, and Isabela State University.

Mu Sigma Phi Sorority, Inc. (μΣΦ) is the first medical sorority in the Philippines and Asia. Recognized by UP Manila, UP College of Medicine, and registered with the SEC, it has upheld the pillars of Sisterhood, Service, Scholarship, and Leadership for 90 years. With over a thousand members, it supports women physicians nationwide.

The Salvation Army Philippine Chapter

ZCML established their sister club relationship through a Memorandum of Agreement with the Salvation Army of the Philippines last January 15, 2025. This ensures transparency, and accountability in defining responsibilities.

This agreement is to promote shared objectives. It reinforces the spirit of solidarity between our sister clubs.

Joint Project: Ikebana

On February 2, 2025, the clubs came together for a shared project—Ikebana: A Japanese Flower Arrangement Class. Participating clubs included ZCML, ZC of Metro Ortigas, ZC of Metropolitan Pasig, and ZC of Makati Paseo de Roxas. This gave the opportunity to strengthen connections, and offer mutual support through a joint initiative.

Zonta Asian Inter-District Meeting Fukuoka, Japan

Leaders from the ZCML—including Charter Pres. Arlene Lotilla, IPP Jeennee Desiderio-Garcia, and Pres. Carmie Oyales—actively participated in the Zonta Asian Inter-District Meeting held on April 5–6, 2025, at the New Otani Hotel in Fukuoka, Japan. Zonta Zisters united by a common mission to create a better world for women and girls across Asia and around the globe!

Virtual Induction Ceremony

On October 28, 2024, the ZCML conducted its General Monthly Meeting in conjunction with the virtual induction ceremony of the newly elected officers of the Golden Z Club of the Mu Sigma Phi Sorority, UP College of Medicine.

ZCML & ZC of Isabela

The ZCML and the ZC of Isabela (Area 4, District 17) officially established their partnership as Zister Clubs through a signed Memorandum of Agreement on August 25, 2024, at the Manila Hotel.

ZCML & RC of Tiger Mandaluyong

The ZCML and the Rotary Club of Tiger Mandaluyong formalized their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding signed in August 2024 at Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.

No to Violence Against Women

Zonta International District 17 Area 5, in collaboration with the City of Taguig and the Philippine National Police, launched an awareness campaign aimed at ending violence against women and girls, as well as addressing the issues of teenage pregnancy and child marriage.

ZCML in Hong Kong

On October 2019, The ZCML was officially welcomed as a newly chartered club by District 17 Governor Teresa Lin during the 20th Zonta International District 17 Conference held in Hong Kong.

Financial Literacy

The ZCML launched a campaign to combat domestic violence by promoting financial literacy as a tool for empowerment. Investing in women’s financial inclusion and education gives them greater control over their financial lives.
